Mahindra XUV400 vs Tata Nexon EV

It is encouraging to see the EV market expand in India. This market sector is still in its infancy until EVs become commonplace in India. The fact that Indian brands are driving this segment's development is even more promising. Tata already has a monopoly because of its Nexon EV Prime and EV Max vehicles. With the Mahindra XUV400, Mahindra has made a significant foray into this market. How does the XUV400 compare to the Nexon EV twins, then? Let's contrast the XUV400 with the Nexon EV in the current piece.

Dimensions

Tata Nexon EV dimensions are 3,993mm long, 1,811mm wide, and 1,616mm tall. With a 205mm ground clearance, it has a 2,498mm wheelbase. The Nexon EV is a small SUV, although the XUV400 is not. It measures 1,821 mm in width, 4,200 mm in length, and 1,634 mm in height. With a 2,600mm wheelbase, it is supported. The Nexon EV is smaller than the XUV400 overall. Mahindra is so sure of the XUV400's abilities that it has compared it to models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona EV.

Design

Let's start by discussing the Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max, as they have similar designs. Fundamentally appearance-wise, the Tata Nexon EV and ICE Nexon are comparable. It receives some subdued blue accents on the bumpers and side EV badging. The only significant distinction between the two is that the Nexon EV Max receives different alloys. Moreover, the Nexon EV Prime comes in Pristine White and Trademark Teal Blue, while the Nexon EV Max comes in Intense Teal, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White.

The XUV400 and XUV300 have a similar overall silhouette. We have a closed-off grille up front and an X-shaped inset in the copper-colored Mahindra emblem. A copper-colored roof with an electric sunroof is also visible. We have brand-new LED tail lights in the back.

Features

Tata and Mahindra cars are aware of how crucial features are in India. Let's start by discussing the Nexon EV. A semi-digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, linked car technology, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, 8 speakers (4 speakers and 4 tweeters), and other goodies are included with the Nexon EV Prime. Other amenities for the Nexon EV Max include air-conditioned seats, an auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging, an air purifier, all-disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, a rotary gear selector with a digital display, and ESP. The XUV400 has a monostable shifter, 60+ connected car technologies, an electric sunroof, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, drive modes (Fun, Rapid, Fearless), and one pedal driving.

Price

XUV400 price is between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh. However, this is merely the initial price for the first 5,000 reservations for each type of vehicle. The Nexon EV's pricing has also just been adjusted by Tata Motors, and it is now between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh. Tata Motors reduced the price of the Nexon EV in reaction to the introduction of the XUV400. As a result, the Nexon EV maintains its position as the nation's most cheap electric SUV, with a base pricing advantage of Rs 1.5 lakh over the XUV400. Yet, the highest price of both SUVs is precisely the same.
