MG Hector Plus vs. MG Hector: Key differences

Inside and exterior, the two SUVs from MG are quite similar. So how does MG Hector Plus, which is more expensive, set itself apart? Learn more about the Hector Plus, a luxury six-seat SUV Morris Garages introduced to the market. The Hector Plus, which rests atop the basic model, is based on the Hector. But are there any features that set the two SUVs apart? Find out now:

Design:

The Hector Plus resembles the basic model in most respects. However, it receives minor visual upgrades that set it apart from the normal model.

The Hector Plus has a new bumper, LED headlights, and a slightly modified grille up front. Also, the absence of plastic-chrome components gives it a cleaner appearance.

Both models appear similar in profile and lack any distinguishing features.

The Hector Plus has a redesigned bumper and new details for the LED tail lights at the back. We admire how much cleaner it looks now that MG has removed the red color line connecting the LED tail lights in the base model. Hector Plus price is worth the design and features it has.

Overall, the exterior's visual improvements are tasteful and well done.

Interior:

The Hector Plus has a similar dashboard design to the normal model, but its upholstery is a more expensive brown color. The center row is where the major change is, though.

The MG Hector uses captain seats for the middle passengers rather than the normal bench seats on Hectors. These seats may be adjusted to recline and move back and forth for added comfort. Later on, the Hector Plus will be available with a bench seat.

A third row of seats is also included with the Hector Plus. Yet youngsters and teens should use these chairs rather than grown people. Also, this arrangement takes up room in the ordinary model's enormous boot. The Hector Plus only provides 155 liters of trunk capacity with all rows up, less than many low-priced hatchbacks provide. The boot expands to 530 liters when the third row is folded down, which is 47 liters less than what MG Hector gives as standard.

Features:

Both MG cars versions have the same feature set, excluding the brand-new swipe-to-open-tailgate function. A 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, an Infinity sound system, powered front seats, cruise control, and a multi-color information display are some of the highlights. Six airbags are among the safety features, along with electronic stability control, an electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD.

Engine Options:

There haven't been many changes to the engine options either. Your options include a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 143 PS, a 1.5-liter gasoline mild hybrid with 143 bhp, or a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 170 bhp. A 6-speed manual transmission is available with the other two engine options, while the DCT is only available with Hector's gasoline-only engine. Verdict: For an extra Rs 65,000, the Hector Plus features a more aesthetically attractive design, a new function, and comfy captain chairs in the middle row. Because of this, choosing the Hector Plus over a regular SUV is simple for individuals seeking a more upscale experience. But, if you only want to transport four or five people most of the time, we advise saving your money and purchasing the regular model. But, you might pay the additional money and get the Hector Plus if you frequently take road trips with your large family or if you want an SUV with comfy captain chairs.
