Honda Shine Details: Things you need to know

The Honda Shine is one of the most affordable Honda bikes in India. It is a commuter bike that starts at Rs 77,378 and goes up to Rs 81,378 in Delhi. All prices are ex-showroom as of August 2022.

In short, this bike has only two variants with five colour options on offer. The Honda Shine 125 caters to a segment of buyers who are into understated looks but expect considerable power delivery and efficiency. As for looks, the Honda Shine resembles the outgoing, the Honda CB Shine 125.

This bike won't bother you either for maintenance.

As mentioned earlier, the Shine 125 has a respectable power delivery. The Honda Shine specifications include a 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 10.7PS at 7500rpm and 11Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Compared to its predecessor, the Shine 125 gets a jump of 0.4PS and 0.5Nm of torque. The ongoing Shine 125 also gets Honda's ACG (alternator current generator) silent starter option, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The fuel tank capacity of the Shine 125 measures 10.5 litres.

Moreover, the potential customers of this bike would be delighted to know that the Honda Shine's mileage is 55kmpl, as rated by ARAI.

Apart from the specifications, this Honda Shine bike gets the same diamond chassis, telescopic fork and twin pre-load-adjustable rear shocks. Furthermore, there are options for a 240 mm disc brake and a 1300 mm drum brake. Then there is also a combined brake system (CBS) that is kept standard on both variants. That should assure good braking in unforeseen circumstances.

When it comes to features, the Honda Shine 125 does miss out on a few new-age offerings, such as LED headlights and a whole digital instrument cluster. Moreover, the look of the instrument cluster may not be to everyone's liking or that of young riders who are already into bikes. In addition, the instrument cluster displays basic information about the vehicle, such as speed, odometer, and fuel gauge, to name a few.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS125 directly takes on the likes of the Hero Super Splendor and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.

Moreover, at the Honda Shine price, you can also consider its alternatives, like the Hero Maestro Edge 125, TVS Ntorq, and Yamaha Fascino, to name a few.

Apart from the Honda Shine, you can also explore other two-wheeler products from Honda. To get a list of their products, simply type "Honda Bikes" into the search icon on the autoX homepage. And there, the list will appear on your screen.
