Launch Alert: KTM RC 390 launched at ₹3.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi)

 


The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer launched the complete makeover of the 2022 KTM RC 390 in India at Rs 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The second generation of the 2022 KTM RC 390 was globally unveiled in 2021. There is a price hike of ₹35,000, but there is a significant difference compared to its predecessor. Appearance: Spruced Up Looks and Added Features

The KTM RC 390 exterior gets a new single LED headlight unit with DRLs paired with a new fairing with integrated indicators that gives it a sportier appeal. KTM's flagship sports bike also gets decals on its body inspired by KTM's MotoGP bike. The new sub-frame is now 1.5kg lighter than its predecessor. The KTM RC 390 also gets a raised handlebar by 15mm for enhanced ergonomics, but riders can lower the handlebar by 10mm. It also continues using the 43mm WP Apex inverted forks with mono-shock. The sizes of the front and rear disc brakes are 320mm and 230mm, respectively. The KTM RC 390 gets new bionic design wheels, five-spoke wheels that are lighter than the previous generation. In addition, it also gets stainless steel headers with aluminium mufflers on its tailpipe. 


In terms of comfort, it gets a thicker pillion split-seat that seems comfortable and provides a good grip in wet weather. The 2022 KTM RC 390 features a TFT (thin-film transistor) instrument cluster with auto-brightness that changes the brightness according to lighting conditions. It also supports smartphone connectivity via the KTM MY RIDE application. 

 

Performance and Handling

The 2022 KTM RC 390 engine specifications are the same as the previous generation. The 373cc liquid-cooled engine churns out 43bhp and 37Nm of torque and gets a six-speed manual transmission. The bike now has a larger airbox that helps power and torque output at all RPMs. It also has a Quickshifter+ that helps with fast gear shifts. 


The KTM RC 390 has an estimated fuel tank capacity of 13.7litres.

As per ARAI, the claimed mileage of the 2022 KTM 390 RC is 29kmpl. 

In terms of safety, it gets traction control and lean-angle-sensitive cornering ABS.

The 2022 KTM 390 RC price is ₹3.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The RC 390 Standard is the only offered variant in India.
