Vespa ZX 125 Overview

The Vespa ZX 125 is the latest scooter offering from the iconic Italian brand Vespa in the Indian market. Launched in 2022, it replaces the previous Vespa LX 125 model and offers a fresh design and updated features.

Design and Styling
The ZX 125 boasts a classic retro-inspired design that is quintessentially Vespa. It features the brand's signature curvy body panels, a round headlamp, chrome-finished mirrors, grab rail, brake levers, and exhaust cover. The scooter's overall premium and elegant appearance will turn heads on the road.

The ZX 125 is available in seven color options - Azure Blue, Grigio Titanio, Rosso Vignola, Blu Energia, Bianco Perla, Nero Vulcano, and Giallo Oro - catering to a wide range of customer preferences. Let us now see Vespa ZX 125 specifications.

Engine and Performance
Powering the ZX 125 is a 124.45cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that complies with the latest BS6 emission norms. This motor produces a maximum power output of 9.65 bhp at 7,400 rpm and a peak torque of 10.11 Nm at 5,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) gearbox, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free riding experience.

The ZX 125's claimed top speed is 90 kmph, making it suitable for both city commuting and occasional highway runs. The scooter also boasts a respectable fuel efficiency figure, with the brand claiming a mileage of around 38-40 kmpl. So, for the price it is offered, the Vespa ZX 125 mileage is excellent.

Brakes and Suspension
In terms of the braking setup, the base variant of the ZX 125 comes equipped with drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels. The premium variant, on the other hand, gets a front disc brake for improved stopping power.

A single-sided arm hydraulic unit handles the suspension duties on the ZX 125 at the front, and a dual-effect hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. While providing a reasonably comfortable ride, this setup is known to be stiffer, especially on rough roads.

Features and Equipment
This Vespa scooty in India features a semi-digital instrument cluster that combines an analog speedometer with a digital display for the odometer, trip meter, and fuel gauge. It also gets a USB charging port for convenient mobile charging.

In terms of safety, the scooter comes equipped with a Combi Braking System (CBS) as standard. This system applies both the front and rear brakes when the rider applies either brake lever, enhancing the overall braking performance and stability of the vehicle.

Pricing and Positioning
The ZX 125 is available in ZX 125 Premium and ZX 125 Drum. The Vespa ZX 125 price for these variants starts at Rs. 1,18,052 and Rs. 1,14,652 (both prices, ex-showroom), respectively.

The ZX 125 is positioned as a premium 125cc scooter in the Indian market, competing with the Aprilia SR 125, Vespa VXL 125, and Vespa SXL 125. Its retro-inspired design, refined performance, and Vespa's brand cachet make it a compelling option for those seeking a stylish and reliable urban mobility solution.

Overall, the ZX 125 is a well-rounded scooter that combines the iconic Vespa design with modern features and performance. Its premium positioning and charming character make it a desirable choice for discerning scooter buyers in India.
