The business claimed in a statement announcing the debut of the Comet EV that the moniker was inspired by the 1934 British airplane that competed in the England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race.
Comet EV design
On the outside, the Comet electric vehicle has a charging port in the middle of the fascia beneath the MG branding, dual, vertically stacked headlamps, LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators on the lower end of the dual-tone bumper, an LED light bar below the windscreen with a chrome strip running sideways to the ORVMs, a dual-tone color theme, and a large rear quarter glass. Other MG Comet EV features include steel wheels with wheel covers, a high-mounted stop lamp, vertically aligned tail lights, and a rear bumper with a number plate recess.
Colors and variants
Customers may order the Comet EV in five colors: white, blue, green, yellow, and pink. As for the variants, the small EV is available in three trims namely, Pace, Play, and Plush.
Comet EV interior and characteristics
The interiors of the Comet EV include elegant AC vents on the center console, rotary knobs for the AC controls, and a big single-piece screen that houses the completely digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. While the car appears small on the outside, the interior is roomy and 4 occupants can travel with ample comfort.
Battery and specifications
Powering the MG Comet EV is a 17.3kWh battery pack that produces a peak power output of 41 bhp and 110 Nm of max torque. The car can be fully charged in 7 hours and 10-80% in 5 hours using a 3.3kW charger.
The vehicle will compete with the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3. This is what MG Comet EV specifications stand for.
MG Comet EV price in India
The MG Comet EV has been launched in India in mid-2023. The EV is priced between Rs. 7.98 lakh to Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), which is comparable to the Tata Tiago EV (Rs 8.49 - 11.79 lakh) and lower than that of the Citroen eC3 (Rs 11.50 - 12.43 lakh) (all prices ex-showroom).
