With the launch of their new sub-brand Vida, Hero MotoCorp has finally entered the hotly-anticipated market of electric two-wheelers. The vendor launched the V1, its first electric scooter. V1 Pro and V1 Plus are the two variations of the scooters that will be on sale. Vida V1 will be introduced gradually; initially, it would be offered in New Delhi, Jaipur, and Bengaluru. How is V1 in terms of performance?

The V1 Pro and V1 Plus share a single electric motor that can deliver 3.9 kW of continuous power and 6 kW of peak power. Both scooters can reach a peak speed of 80 kmph.

 

The Hero Vida V1 can reach 40 kmph from a complete stop in 3.2 seconds as opposed to the V1 Plus's 3.4 seconds for the same acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph. Four riding modes are available on both scooters. There are Sports, Ride, Eco, and Custom categories. How far can one ride the V1?

Both scooters have different battery packs, but they both have an IP68 rating and a guarantee that lasts for three years or 30,000 miles. With a bigger 3.94 kWh battery, the V1 Pro can reportedly go 165 kilometres, according to IDC. With a stated range of 143 km, the V1 Plus's battery pack is smaller—3.9 kWh. While real world range is something we’ll see once we get to experience both the scooters for a longer period of time, the claimed numbers do look promising as of now.

To lessen the likelihood of the rider being lost, Vida is also providing a limp home option. If the SOC falls below a certain limit, the scooters may go for around 8 kilometres at a speed of 10 kph.
